To realise our ambitious growth targets for Sweden, we are currently looking to strengthen our team of Client Executives within the Large Corporates & International (LCI) division in both Stockholm and Gothenburg. The LCI division is responsible for DNB’s large and mid-size corporate and institutional clients, and we have colleagues across the Nordics, London, New York, Singapore and Sydney.
About the role
DNB is expanding its Energy coverage team and is looking to appoint an Associate Director to join a team of four dedicated to serving clients across the Energy sector.
We are looking for candidates with approximately 6–10 years of relevant experience to work alongside the senior Client Executives in further developing DNB’s portfolio of mid- and large-cap clients in Sweden. The role combines responsibility for an existing client portfolio with a strong focus on developing new relationships and business opportunities.
As an Associate Director, you will act as a trusted financial advisor to your clients, taking a holistic view of their financing and strategic needs. You will work closely with your colleagues and internal product specialists to originate and deliver tailored solutions across lending, capital structure, cash management, and capital markets.
Main responsibilities

Manage and develop your own portfolio of corporate clients, while proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across relevant Energy subsectors

Build and lead strategic client relationships, providing advice on capital structure, financing solutions, and broader banking needs

Drive profitable growth through new client acquisition, relationship development, and proactive business origination

Lead transactions end-to-end, from initial client dialogue and pitch through credit assessment, structuring, term sheets, documentation, and closing

Coordinate internal product and specialist functions, including Credit, Risk, Cash Management, and Capital Markets, to deliver integrated client solutions

Develop and maintain strong sector expertise, market knowledge, and a relevant professional network

Contribute to the continued development of DNB’s Energy franchise and broader client offering in Sweden
Who we are looking for

Approximately 6–10 years of relevant experience from corporate banking, investment banking, leveraged finance, asset finance, credit, or another relevant financial services area, combined with experience in relationship management

Experience or a strong interest in the Energy sector is preferred

Strong commercial acumen and a genuine interest in understanding clients’ businesses and financial needs

Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders

Proactive and solutions-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment

Strong analytical and communication skills

Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
